Hosta `Sagae' can be grown in zones 3 - 9, and forms a large mound of satiny blue/grey leaves with wide creamy yellow margins. Pale lavender flowers top the 60cm wide clump (24 inches) on 1.3m (4 foot) scapes in midsummer. This impressive hosta has a distinctive upright vase shaped growth habit. Hosta `Sagae' will grow to an impressive 75 cm (30" tall). A mature leaf will measure up to 25cm x 17 cm (10" x 7"). We have found this variety to do very well in large containers and have found it grows at a medium rate in the garden. In coastal areas, Hosta `Sagae' will tolerate full sun but the color is best when grown in partial shade.
