I wanted to name a plant for my dear friend Marjorie Harris in Ontario, and she is actually the one who came up with this name, so I'm not taking credit here for another 'naughty' name! I love all colors of the spectrum and I feel that some of the orange/copper/rust colors are so overlooked these days. I love to blend these colors with blue grasses like Elijah Blue Fescue and the silver-blue of the Krossa Regal hosta - absolutely a fabulous combination! DIRTY OLD BROAD stands 22 inches tall, blooms midseason with 3 inch flowers, has extended bloom and is dormant. The soft copper color is accentuated by a maroon eye above the yellow-green throat. A creamy midrib and tight ruffles add to the charm of this plant.

She opens early in the morning, and is evenfragrant! Dormant. Last year's introduction of CROTCHLESS PANTIES and the furor that the name created led me to be known as the `vixen of the daylily world' - hence, I named this plant after myself! This is a plant I am truly proud of.

ISOBEL'S HOT FLASH (2000)           $50.00

I pondered for a long time a fitting name for this intro. Then, I was contacted by one of my customers, Boni Dufour, who asked the possibility of coming up with a name for her good friend and fellow daylily enthusiast, Isobel McLean. Isobel has also been one of my customers for years and I was happy to help make another daylily lover happy! When Boni suggested this name to me, I knew immediately that this was the one! Isobel loves pinks, so I'm sure she will like this! IHF stands 24" tall, blooms midseason, and has 4" blooms of rose pink, with deep heavy ruffles, deeper rose pink eye, cream midribs, and a yellow/apple-green throat. WINE ME DINE ME (2000)           $40.00

Click On The Picture For A Full Sized View

I named this one tongue-in-cheek! :) My fellow daylily chatroom cohorts, who know my sense of humor all too well, will appreciate it! Obviously my favorite breeding line is the miniatures and small-flowered varieties. I find some of these plants so very easy to blend into a perennial border or small space where I just want to add a flash of color. WMDM stands 20" tall, blooms midseason, with 3" flowers of ivory cream with a stunning purple eye. What I love about this flower is the echo effect in the eyepattern - a halo of pink in between the purple eye and the intense lime-green throat! The blooms are perfectly recurved and ruffled. 25+ buds per scape with 3 way branching. Dormant.

CROTCHLESS PANTIES (1999)             $40.00

This now infamous cultivar was inspired by a group of Ontario Daylily Society members and guests in the fall of 1998! All kidding aside, this 20" midseason bloomer is such a wonderful border plant that visitors are drawn to it even before they see the name! The blooms are 2.5" across and are a lovely soft ivory cream with a prominent fuchsia line above the blue-purple eye! With an apple-green throat, this baby is a real attention getter! Dormant.

BRAD'S SELECTION (1999)             $25.00

Click On The Picture For A Full Sized View

My nursery is only minutes away from another popular nursery in the area - Select Roses. The owner of Select is Brad Jalbert, western Canada's leading hybridizer of miniature roses. Brad is a close friend and for the past couple of years I have been putting daylily display gardens at his nursery as well - and on one of his visits to my garden he spotted a seedling in the field and commented on how much he liked it. So in 1999, I introduced 'Brad's Selection' because he liked this one so much, and as another fellow plant breeder, he has a wonderful eye for color.

This beauty stands 22" tall, so is very nice on a perennial border, blooms in midseason but has been known to rebloom in fall when the weather has been quite warm. The blooms are 3.5" wide and a soft orchid pink with a deep magenta eye. The throat is yellow-green; the flowers are ruffled, ext. and is a dormant.

SANDALWOODS SISTER (1999)             $40.00

Click On The Picture For A Full Sized View

    Once again - some influence from Brad Jalbert! Brad's most popular miniature rose of 1998 and 1999 was his own introduction called 'Sandalwood'. This mini is a fabulous terracotta color, and when Brad saw this seedling in the field, he commented how close the color was to his famous rose. I thought the two would be magnificent in a container together and I was right! Hence the name SANDALWOODS SISTER! sp;

This mid-sized plant is 24" tall, midseason bloomer, with 4" flowers of pure terra-cotta with an outstanding maroon eye and veins. Yellow-green throat, dor.

LANGLEY MORNING GLOW (1997)             $30.00

Click On The Picture For A Full Sized View

This plant was so hard to classify when I first decided to register it. It has a tendency to fall into the Unusual Forms category sometimes - with the sepals doing this nifty twisting/curling thing! She stands 30" tall, midseason bloomer, 5" flowers that are such an orange-red that it looks like it's on fire! Opening early every day, this flower is out to greet me at 7am - and tolerates any kind of weather you can throw at it! Dormant.

LANGLEY ROADSIDE ENCHANTMENT
(1997)             $30.00

Click On The Picture For A Full Sized View

A strange name I know, but hey - I’m getting to be known for those! hahaha! This lavender pink and cream bicolor is a wonderful plant on its own, but if you can plant it in front of a dark-leafed shrub - such as a Cotinus (smoke bush) with its deep burgundy leaves - the combination is absolutely stunning! LANGLEY ROADSIDE ENCHANTMENT stands 28" tall, blooms midseason, with 4.5" flowers. She is semi-ev., ext. and bonus - fragrant!

LANGLEY BIG TOP (1995)             $25.00

Click On The Picture For A Full Sized View

I love big flowers! When this bloomed in the seedling field for the first time, I was jumping up and down! The 7" blooms on top of the 34" scapes were magnificent! Big floppy flowers of a magical color blend of yellow, melon and green, with a lime green throat. The pinched petals even have a touch of pale pink! Ext., dormant and fragrant. Still one of my favorites!

LANGLEY DOUBLE PEACH (1995)             $35.00

Click On The Picture For A Full Sized View

Imagine the softest, creamiest apricot-peach color you can and that would describe this flower! The picture just can’t do it justice! Another from the doubles line, although occasionally throws some singles (which are just as magnificent). She stands 22" tall and makes a fabulous clump quickly! Blooming 5" flowers in midseason, and frequently sending rebloom up in late summer, she is also quite fragrant. Ext., dormant.

LANGLEY ROSE EXPLOSION (1995)             $40.00

The best pink to come from my doubles line so far - this fully double true rose pink has been a delight to have in the garden. I was honored that Diana Grenfell used the picture of this plant in her new book `A Gardeners Guide to Daylilies”. This plant stands 30" tall, midseason bloomer, with flowers of 5.5". There is a slight deeper rose eye above the yellow-green throat. Dormant and fragrant.
