blooms mid to late season with 5" flowers of soft orchid pink with a completely
stunning black purple eye and edge! A dormant tetraploid, this beauty has
outstanding branching and bud count. I hope one day to see this lovely flower

24 in. Midseason, 3.5 in. flowers of ivory with
fuchsia eye and yellow-green throat. Dormant and slightly fragrant.
This flower is named for a truly special person. Dale was our neighbor and friend for almost
twenty years and she recently lost a very long battle with cancer. Her dedication and love for
her family was awe-inspiring, and her strength and determination over the past few years was beyond
courageous. She has left a legacy of love that will stay in all our hearts forever. Over the past
four years, much joy was brought to her life through her grandson, Trevor. All proceeds from the
sale of this namesake plant will be put into a trust fund that was set up for him. He will grow up
knowing he had a grandmother whose heart and soul was full of love, faith and caring for everyone around her.

This
seedling we have watched for years, and have been encouraged by so
many to introduce it. Yellow-peach flowers of 4" stand atop this 24"
plant, mid-late bloomer, with an intricate purple-lavender eye pattern.
Lavender halo, etched purple line that bleeds into the veins, lime green
throat, fragrant, dormant. Not the norm of newer, rounder flowers
- but leaning more toward the unusual form - it is the eye pattern that
is really captivating.

DIRTY OLD BROAD (2001) $50.00

I
wanted to name a plant for my dear friend Marjorie Harris in Ontario,
and she is actually the one who came up with this name, so I'm not taking
credit here for another 'naughty' name! I love all colors of the
spectrum and I feel that some of the orange/copper/rust colors are so
overlooked these days. I love to blend these colors with blue grasses
like Elijah Blue Fescue and the silver-blue of the Krossa Regal hosta
- absolutely a fabulous combination! DIRTY OLD BROAD stands 22 inches
tall, blooms midseason with 3 inch flowers, has extended bloom and is
dormant. The soft copper color is accentuated by a maroon eye above the
yellow-green throat. A creamy midrib and tight ruffles add to the charm
of this plant.

accentuated by deeper pink veins, leading down to a chalky yellow halo above
the lime green throat. Being more of a mid-sized plant, this makes a
wonderful feature plant in a perennial border.

I
pondered for a long time a fitting name for this intro. Then, I was contacted by one of my
customers, Boni Dufour, who asked the possibility of coming up with a name for her good friend
and fellow daylily enthusiast, Isobel McLean. Isobel has also been one of my customers for years
and I was happy to help make another daylily lover happy! When Boni suggested this name to me,
I knew immediately that this was the one! Isobel loves pinks, so I'm sure she will like this!
IHF stands 24" tall, blooms midseason, and has 4" blooms of rose pink, with deep heavy ruffles,
deeper rose pink eye, cream midribs, and a yellow/apple-green throat. I have used this seedling in
many of my future crosses because of the fabulous round ruffled form.

I
named this one tongue-in-cheek! :) My fellow daylily chatroom cohorts, who know my sense of
humor all too well, will appreciate it! Obviously my favorite breeding line is the miniatures and
small-flowered varieties. I find some of these plants so very easy to blend into a perennial border
or small space where I just want to add a flash of color. WMDM stands 20" tall, blooms
midseason, with 3" flowers of ivory cream with a stunning purple eye. What I love about this
flower is the echo effect in the eyepattern - a halo of pink in between the purple eye and the
intense lime-green throat! The blooms are perfectly recurved and ruffled. 25+ buds per scape with
3 way branching. Dormant.

across and are a lovely soft ivory cream with a prominent fuchsia line above the blue-purple eye!
With an apple-green throat, this baby is a real attention getter! Dormant.

My
nursery is only minutes away from another popular nursery in the area
- Select Roses. The owner of Select is Brad Jalbert, western Canada's
leading hybridizer of miniature roses. Brad is a close friend and for
the past couple of years I have been putting daylily display gardens at his
nursery as well - and on one of his visits to my garden he spotted a
seedling in the field and commented on how much he liked it. So in 1999,
I introduced 'Brad's Selection' because he liked this one so much, and
as another fellow plant breeder, he has a wonderful eye for color.

This
beauty stands 22" tall, so is very nice on a perennial border, blooms
in midseason but has been known to rebloom in fall when the weather
has been quite warm. The blooms are 3.5" wide and a soft orchid pink
with a deep magenta eye. The throat is yellow-green; the flowers are
ruffled, ext. and is a dormant.

Once

rose of 1998 and 1999 was his own introduction called 'Sandalwood'.
This mini is a fabulous terracotta color, and when Brad saw this seedling
in the field, he commented how close the color was to his famous
rose. I thought the two would be magnificent in a container together
and I was right! Hence the name SANDALWOODS SISTER!
